JAMB CONFIRMS 16 YEARS AS MINIMUM ADMISSION AGE INTO NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS 🔊🔊🔊

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that 16 years remains the official minimum age requirement for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

This was announced during the 2026 Admission Policy Meeting in Abuja.

What Parents & Candidates Should Know
No admission if under 16: JAMB CAPS will automatically reject candidates who are below 16 years, even with 400 UTME score.
October 31 deadline: You must be 16 years old on or before October 31, 2026 to qualify for 2026/2027 admission.
No exceptions: JAMB insists there will be no waiver for “exceptionally brilliant” candidates under 16.
Fake age = ban: Candidates caught falsifying age will be banned from JAMB for 3 years.
JAMB advised candidates, parents, and guardians to take note and ensure strict compliance with this admission policy to avoid disappointment.
